Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance or provide superbills in order to prevent insurance companies from accessing your records, requiring unnecessary diagnoses for reimbursements, and impeding the therapeutic process. You can use cash, check, credit card, debit card, or FSA/HSA funds to pay for therapy.

What are your fees?

My hourly rate is $120.

Individual sessions start at 60 minutes and are open-ended when possible. This means I don’t cut you off at 60 minutes if you’re not ready; we continue working until you feel a sense of closure with the issue(s) you’ve brought to the session. Time over 60 minutes is prorated (so if your session was 70 minutes, the total fee would be $140). Some clients are happy with 60 minutes, while others need 75 minutes, 90 minutes, or more. The time the session takes is up to you.

Couples sessions are a little different. The initial session is 2 hours ($240) and subsequent sessions are 90 minutes ($180).

Do you offer a sliding scale or income-based fees?

I do have a few sliding scale slots but they are full at the moment. When one opens, I will post that information here.

Do you offer virtual sessions?

For individuals, yes. For couples, no.

I understand that may pose an obstacle to a couple not located within easy driving distance to my office. If a couple was not able to attend weekly or biweekly sessions in person, we could explore if an intensive or mini-intensive would be right for them. Intensives can be a very efficient way to work, accomplishing in a day or two days what we might accomplish in a few months of weekly or biweekly sessions. It’s also not right for every couple or situation, so if it’s not a good fit I’m happy to refer to other therapists who do work virtually with couples.
